What is the quality like on your pastel drawings?
I use materials of high quality, from the paper to the pastels to the frame. The drawings are framed by a professional, in handbuilt frames and with artglass UV70. This ensures that the artwork will stay the same for houndreds of years.
Why do you use pastels?
I like that pastels is a dry medium, so I don't have to wait to build the layers. I also love the combination of strong colors, and a soft expression.
What reference do you use when you draw?
I use referencephotos that me, my husband or someone else I know have taken. Or I buy the right to use a photo as a reference for my art.
Why do you draw in realistic style?
It's a really special feeling when I draw something and it starts to look alive. I try to make art I would like to have up on my own wall. And I really like details, so a realistic style suits me well.
Do you take comissions?
No, not at the moment.
What kind of paper do you use?
I use Clairefontaine Pastelmat paper in different colors.

Why do I use it?

I use soft pastels for the underpainting and for the first layers.

It's easy to mix, but I still like to have many colors to chose from.
Since it is in powder form, very little binder is used, and therefore it has very high color concentration.

Why do I use it?

I prefere pastelpencils over other colored pencils, because of how quickly I get color on the paper. And it allows me to build as many layers as I want.
My Swordfish 40100 ikon Desktop Manual Pencil Sharpener, have almost been a lifesaver for me, or at least for my art inspiration. I can finnaly sharpen my pastel pencils.
